The
Big Horn River
Three and a half hours east of
Bozeman, the Big Horn is a classic tailwater providing year round fishing
opportunities. The
spring creek nature of this river, like the Missouri, can provide rewarding
and challenging fishing for large trout.
Current Conditions & Fishing Strategy 7/26/10
PMDs, Yellow Sallies and Caddis have been the word on the Big Horn with some excellent fishing being reported out of Ft. Smith. Dry fly fishing has been excellent in the mornings and evenings and nymphing mid-day has been great. The river has been busy but the fishing has been good enough to make it worth going.
