The Missouri River
Beginning its journey near the town of Three Forks, the Missouri is a culmination of the Gallatin, Madison, and Jefferson rivers.  While there is some trout fishing to be had along its entire course, most of the trout fishing is below Holter Dam down to the town of Cascade. The spring creek like qualities of this tail water section can make for challenging but very rewarding fishing.

Current Conditions & Fishing Strategy
6/29/2009 Water levels have risen again on the Missouri, but the river is still fishing relatively well. Nymphing and Streamer fishing seem to be working well. Expect to see some caddis flies hatching in the evenings. Floating is the best option for fishing the Missouri.
