The
Missouri River
Beginning
its journey near the town of Three Forks, the Missouri is a culmination
of the Gallatin, Madison, and Jefferson rivers. While there is
some trout fishing to be had along its entire course, most of the trout
fishing is below Holter Dam down to the town of Cascade. The spring creek
like qualities of this tail water section can make for challenging but
very rewarding fishing.
Current Conditions & Fishing Strategy 08/30/10
Pseudos have been the story on the Missouri for those who are willing to fish them. The cooler weather brought lots of fish to the surface, but fishing tiny dries is not for everyone. Aside from that, the Hopper fishing has remained a great option down low and the nymphing has been excellent. Recommended Fly Patterns Nymphs -
