The Missouri River
Beginning its journey near the town of Three Forks, the Missouri is a culmination of the Gallatin, Madison, and Jefferson rivers.  While there is some trout fishing to be had along its entire course, most of the trout fishing is below Holter Dam down to the town of Cascade. The spring creek like qualities of this tail water section can make for challenging but very rewarding fishing.

Current Conditions & Fishing Strategy
02-26-10 The Missouri is typically a decent winter option. Be cautious of wind this time of year. Nymphing with small tailwater nypmhs like Pink Ray Charles and Scuds is the most productive method. We are hearing reports of midges in the afternoon.
